PPR pipe sizes
PPR pipe is sized by outside diameter in millimeters: 20 mm ≈ 1/2 in, 25 mm ≈ 3/4 in, 32 mm ≈ 1 in. A 20 mm PN20 pipe has a 3.4 mm wall.
| Outside diameter | Nearest inch size | Wall PN10 (SDR 11) | Wall PN20 (SDR 6) | Bore PN20 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 mm (0.79 in) | 1/2 in | 1.9 mm | 3.4 mm | 13.2 mm |
| 25 mm (0.98 in) | 3/4 in | 2.3 mm | 4.2 mm | 16.6 mm |
| 32 mm (1.26 in) | 1 in | 2.9 mm | 5.4 mm | 21.2 mm |
| 40 mm (1.57 in) | 1 1/4 in | 3.7 mm | 6.7 mm | 26.6 mm |

What to know
PN is the pressure rating in bar at 20 °C; SDR is the ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness. Hot water lines normally use PN20 or PN25.
